Test Results and a Luggage set - May 27, 03:12 PM

I love yardsales, second hand stores and antique shops, other peoples junk is always more interesting than my own. Day before yesterday I was out and about and stumbled across a Church rummage sale. I found an interesting Atlantic Mold Rooster cookie jar (or Chicken, I’m not sure which), 4 cute wastebaskets and a 3-piece set of luggage, pictured beneath the cut.

As for my ultrasound, I’m going in on Thursday to get the results, it was a transabdominal and I must say that holding my pee in for so long was not a pleasant experience. I drank over a litre of water and had to hold it in for two and a half hours! Note to self: Don’t get pregnant. The good news is that if it were something deadly serious the technician would have told me and I wouldn’t be here telling you about my horrible pee holding experience.

In happier news I’m switching Doctors. My current Doctor is about 80 years old, was there when I was born and thinks I’m far too stressed out for someone my age and that I need quite a bit of therapy (depending on who you ask, he may be right :P). He’s quite nice and is taking the entire family (meaning, parents, grandparents, siblings and possibly cousins and their parents).

Makeup trunk

The name on the luggage says McBrine, a company that started sometime around the 1870’s, as near as I can figure. There are two suitcases, one pictured below, and a makeup trunk (above). My grandmother had a similar makeup trunk, which I still have, that is at the very least 40 years old. Needless to say I’m quite pleased since now I can run away from home in style.

Those are the coolest pieces of luggage ever! I love going to thrift stores and garage sales as well. You can never tell what goodies you’ll find there.

That’s good news about the ultrasound. Hopefully the results will be good.

Aren’t they though? I have a larger suitcase, identical to the one pictured above (just bigger). The insides are in fairly good condition and it looks like they all have the original keys, they’re just in need of a good wipe down (you can see that on the makeup trunk).

Yeah I’m glad, if it were anything serious I wouldn’t be here I’d probably be in the hospital. It’s just a relief to get that over with, hopefully it’s nothing bad when I go in (best case scenario would be a cyst that is manageable).

Oh that’s beautiful luggage! How much did you get it for?

All together? $4 :D The makeup trunk was $1 and the suitcases were $3, I love yardsales so much.

What! I need to get down to some yardsales! $4…. that’s amazing!

I am happy that it isn’t something deadly or very serious! Hopefully it isn’t anything at all.

I love your luggage set too – Hard not to love it. You made a great deal.

Wish I could find some nice luggage. I have to use this old suitcase that smells like a mixture between marijuana and old newspaper for my travels.

Damn dude. You got a nice deal with your suitcases. Cute. I so need waste baskets. >=|

The suitcases are very nice. I’m glad you got so many useful things while rummaging through other people’s junk. As they say, one man’s trash is another’s treasure. I think that we can sometimes find the best of deals when dealing with second hand things. And don’t be ashamed either.

I hope the desired reults come back regarding the ultrasound. Is it going to be a boy or a girl (do you know yet)?

Oh I’m not pregnant :P I was bent over about two weeks ago from really bad pain in my pelvis and my doctor ordered an ultrasound. I get the results this Thursday and hopefully it will just be a cyst. If not then :X

I love junk hunting, no use feeling embarrassed because you can find some really good stuff for a good price :)

I’m glad to hear that it was nothing serious. :)

By the way, those suitcases are wonderful! They’ve very vintage and for $4 bucks you can’t beat that! It’s amazing what you can find at garage sales and thrift shops. :)
