Letters to the Stupid: Jessica
You can read my reply to Jessica’s supporters here. I didn’t think flooding her comments with an argument against her would be very nice (not that I’ve been overly nice so far) so I settled for replying on my own site. It took only a few minutes to write so I apoligise for any mistakes made.

Dear Jessica,
You probably remember me, I’m WTF (WTFBitca on AIM) and we had a little tiff over the banning of a few of my friends/acquaintances from your board. You lied about pretty much everything and dodged my questions until I got fed up and lied to you so I could leave. Since we have a “history” together I feel no guilt or shame over writing you this letter expressing my feelings over your latest blog. One word of warning though: You devoted an entry to why people are like really mean and comment on your blog so I can devote an entry to laughing at you for posting an entry about people. Yeah.
First of all I’d like to say: “What the fuck?” towards the point of your last blog. Someone told you that you were being a little harsh and maybe complaining too much, hey that’s a good point, you do complain a lot and you were being a bit harsh, so you decided to devote a blog entry towards that person? I know I’ve been known to go overboard with a little e-drama, but this? If you’re going to attempt to gain some hits with drama then make it good drama, this just makes you look stupid.
In your disclaimer you state that it is a privilege to be at your site. How exactly is it a privilege? If anything it’s a privilege for you to have visitors and comments. Although I’m sure if we do something bad you’ll yank what you feel is our privilege out from under us by IP banning us. Unfortunately IP banning is a very easy thing to get around and doesn’t really work all that well.
Perhaps there is something you could answer for me: Why is your stylesheet so completely buggered up? I tried to fix the background colour using my handy dandy Web Developer toolbar, but I couldn’t figure out how to do that. I like to think that I’m pretty proficient with CSS, but your site confused me. That or it might have been the splitting migraine I got from attempting to read dark text on a dark background. Way to entice repeat visitors.
Could you also explain to me how it’s a privilege to be a guest at your site? Or why you refuse advice? Are you really so self-involved that you think just because you ask people won’t voice their opinions? And perhaps you could also explain to my why you say that typing properly makes you look intelligent, but you go on to make quite a few grammatical and spelling mistakes that even I, queen of the comma splices and abuse of brackets, can pick out. An example of that is #4, you state that your e-mail and AIM is not a help service. Say that out loud for me m’dear, notice the problem (stress on the “is”). It should be are because you aren’t referring to a single thing, but rather two things. The proper way to write it would be: My email and AIM screename are not a help service. See how much more intelligent you look? Oops, I think that falls under the realm of “I don’t take advice unless I ask for it.“. Sorry, not.
Perhaps the biggest problem I have with your site, aside from you, is your tutorials section. In your custom bullets tutorial you show people how to achieve custom bullets on their lists by applying a class to the li tag. That can be achieved much more efficiently by putting the containing DIV ID in front of the li and adding the background through there.
Ex.:

See how much easier that is? There are quite a few tutorials on there that could use a makeover, and I’m not talking of the PHP kind.
Oh by the way, some of your pages have a different stylesheet, might wanna fix that. Oops, unsolicited advice from me again. Dammit, when will I learn?

I have to say, I pretty much agree with you. Jessica seems nice, but she doesn’t appear to take critisim too well which is probably why people mock her so much online. I am rather curious as to what her reaction to this letter would be. That’d be nice, but doubtful.Hopefully she take it in, and learns something from it. By something I mean something positive. That’d be nice, but doubtful. I even left a her a comment on her latest layout pointing out the css “problems” but eh the way people talk about her, she probably ignored it. Her site isn’t that bad, well some of her layouts aren’t anyways.

Hey Becky! Nice reading your blog. For someone who doesn’t even know Jessica, you hardly have any justifiable reason to do this, other than having no life. Sure, myself & Jessica have been in some arguements, but everyone gets mad at times, and at least I had known her for quite some time. You make statements that make hardly any sense and you are a terrible writer, at the least. All this without even knowing her.
You are quite hypocritical and I can’t believe you would spend the time on something like this without even knowing her. Consequently, it IS a priviledge to be on her site. No one asks you to go there, no one asks you to love her, no one asks you to read the content or blogs. However, you CHOOSE to spend time on her. It’s like you have some odd obsession with her and you don’t know one thing about her.
By the way, a large congratulations to you for being able to find an “easier way” for her tutorial. I applaud you! How you make a tutorial on your “easier way”! I see that you only have two at the moment. When I would guess Jessica has close to 100.
Now, here’s some “unsolicited advice” from me. Your CSS is very, very dull and boring. I actually waited an extra moment to see if something more would load. Unfortunately, it did not. You might want to spruce up your site, then you might get more than 4 comments when you aren’t talking about Jessica.
On the other hand, speaking of “easier ways”. I took the liberty to view the source of your page, and realized you are doing things in quite a messy, unorganized, and complicated way. You might want to read some tutorials on PHP. Also, maybe get some creativity or perhaps learn to color scheme and have something even the least bit interesting to look at.

Talena, please tell me where Becky’s css and/or coding is somewhat messy? After viewing it myself she has done pretty much everything to organise it properly. It is very, VERY obvious that you are just jealous. And you made fun of her comment’s! You are the one using haloscan, m’dear.

The phrase “quality over quantity” springs to mind. One of my tutorials is better than all of Jessica’s put together.
You might want to read some tutorials on PHP.
..I think perhaps you are the one who needs to read tutorials on PHP. Telling someone they need to learn a language that parses before it even reaches the browser that you therefore wouldn’t be able to see anyway only demonstrates your lack of knowledge.

Up until now the hype was:it’s my site I do what I want. Apparently that’s not enough.. oh not not by far. Now it’s “You should feel honoured to even be admitted here”. sighs
Next, we will get a comment warning:

3) whatever else I might feel insults my superior intellect
... like DUH! I rock, you can’t even COMPARE to my unreadable text (light grey on black… I’m using a laptop and no amount of moving the screen helped).

This is what /I/ believe is happening. Jessica is rather full of herself, but can’t get a grip on her emotions. She can’t take critisism well, so when someone decides to say something, obviously, she freaks out. Then, she’d send her little worker bees to defend the queen, trying to bash people and whatnot, but failing miserably.
The ‘bashee’ laughs at the moronic attempts to undermine him/her, and decides to do something about it, effectively winning the argument and kicking the others to the curb.
And I’m not only talking about Becky, here. I’ve seen Jessica’s other attempts to ridicule people.
Key word, attempt.
PS: Becky, you may only have two tutorials, but they’re bloody brilliant.
