Hypocrisy Ahoy!

I’m an optimist and a pessimist. I see people as being inherently good and evil at the same time regardless of their actions. Whenever I see someone doing something stupid I tend to believe that it’s just one moment of stupidity and not a reflection on the person as a whole. Unfortunately some people are just plain stupid in a given area and there is nothing anyone can say or do about it.

One of my latest pet peeves is people who act bitchy when they’re incapable of acting bitchy. They single out someone that they think is stupid (but by a broad definition isn’t) and rant, rave and or try to win an argument with them at any cost. This works for them because they can vent their spleen at someone they can’t see, and probably never will, while appearing hardcore and cool. Basically it’s just mean for the sake of mean. It holds no real substance and more often than not it’s annoying and makes the ‘meanie’ look like an idiot.

This is where the hypocrisy comes in to play. I am sometimes chucked into the “hXc” crowd as being someone who picks fights for the hell of it. I freely admit that I am more than a little blunt most of the time. I honestly don’t think I can help it because I view sugarcoating as a form of lying, and I hate lying. Lying makes me feel dirty and guilty because the truth, while harsh, is usually better. The only time I can feel good about lying is when I’m lying to make someone feel better and they know it’s a lie (like telling someone who has been sick that, in spite of their illness, they look really good).

If you want to be bitchy that’s fine, just make sure you can be bitchy before you start being bitchy. Randomly picking someone because you didn’t like what they had to say is idiotic, if you’re going to bitch have a good reason to bitch (oops, hypocrisy again) and don’t just do it because you think it looks cool or just for the hell of it. Like I said, you’ll end up looking like a douche. Unless you want to look like a douche/have no problem with looking like a douche. Then it’s all good.

Here here!

The kind of bitchiness where you just pick out a person because you don’t like one thing they did or said is a form of bullying in my opinion and it happens far too much in real life and on the Internet.

On the lying front, I hate lying, but sometimes its essential to lie as to not ruin someones feelings. Sometimes being honest is worse than lying.
