HTML 4.01 Strict Centered Template Feb 23, 19:28
Well I missed my first second day on this Blogathon. But hey, 2 out of 30 isn’t bad, I haven’t dropped out yet!
I don’t believe I blogged about this, but I’ve put up a template for you all to use. It’s nothing special, in fact it’s pretty fug. But it’s the base I use for most of my layouts (centered container with two div’s floated left and right with a header and footer). You can remove the extra styles and customize as you please. I only added them to show you what you could do to it.
To validate as XHTML 1.0 Strict
Add a trailing slash, /> to all tags without a closing tag. In this template there is only one tag to change (if you don’t add more): <meta HTTP-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8"/>
Turn it into a Liquid (or elastic) layout
Find width:700px; and change it to a percentage. The content and sidebar div’s are both relative in width so you shouldn’t have any problem resizing (meaning that they’ll resize with the container).
I’m toying with another template I use, the one you see up right now, and considering putting it up. I’m not entirely sure that the methods I use are the best, so I’ll go over the CSS and remove anything that isn’t necessary or a good practice and release when/if that’s done.

Hi, I would just like to double check if it’s okay for me modify your template into a Wordpress theme. Thank you.
