Fun on Despair.nu
Edit I thought I’d just post what the reply to my blog entry was, it’s still linked below, so I’ll just copy and paste the important bits for you to see.
and where the fuck you get off tellin me that my site aint bangin. bitch yo damn site look shittier then mine so why the fuck is you talkin. and plus if you didnt know when i went to comment that peice of shit, everything got misaligned. so before you come telling me that i need to learn more HTML, maybe you need to learn HTML period. okay.
To sum it up (in English): She took offense to the fact that I thought her site was not “banging” (faux ghetto for beautiful and or wonderful) and that I was no judge because my site is worse off (or should I say worster off?) than hers. Apparently my site also breaks when someone goes to comment so I checked it out and it was fixed, I did not need to learn HTML to fix it, it was merely a word pushing the entire layout out of alignment, thank you for giving me a heads up (I only have IE7 and it’s working fine for me in there which is why the problem was there even after multiple browser tests).
I thought joining Despair.nu would be a boring, somewhat crappy experience that, for the most part, would bring only a few laughs and maybe one or two sites worth subscribing/linking to, and it kind of is, but some of people I’ve come across have made it worthwhile so far. Well actually it’s only one person, but now my hopes are high that I’ll find more just like this.
Tonight I got an email telling me which sites to comment on and Urban Legend was one of them (warning: Urban Legend contains some shitty music that auto plays when the page loads/is refreshed). If you want you can skip the crappy music and get right to the blog entry.
To view this site properly you will need to have INTERNET EXPLORER 5 or above.
If you have Internet Explorer 7 then you’ll notice something off, it doesn’t work! That’s just priceless, a site that looks breaks the same in IE as it does in Firefox. Methinks the dink needs to upgrade her Internet Explorer.
I just wanted to share because I’ve never seen anything quite like that. It’s a first for me.

Ouch – I have come across many many awful sites since I joined Despair, but I have also come across many awesome sites too. I have figured out how I want my site to look and how I certainly don’t want it to look. That site you referred to was a good example on how my site looked like once – I hope I have improved though.

I had to comment on her site just before things really picked up and moved on into the juvenile department but I basically said the same thing. She posts a disclaimer(which is IMHO rude) warning us that we need IE, yet when I had to switch over, it still was misaligned and wasn’t much better than when I first tried in firefox. I’ve had the misfortune of having to leave comments(via despair) and I never know to reply with. How do you respond to posts that are incredibly juvenile and that continue to roll the drama along for other readers. I find it incredibly tacky.
